    There are a variety of things to do in Semuliki National Park which makes it rank as one of the greatest and most important bird watching sites in Uganda.

    More than 131 of the 144 Guinea – Congo forest Biome species have been recorded in Semuliki Forest National Park. In addition, other bird species can be sighted here such as White-tailed/Piping Hornbill (also recorded in Budongo forest reserve) and Capuchin Babbler. Others include the Blue-headed, Crested flycatcher – now known from Mabira forest. The Orange Weaver which is common along the Northern shores of Lake Victoria and the Red-billed Malimbe which has also been spotted in the nearby Kibale National Park famous for chimpanzee trekking experience.

    Semuliki National Park is also accessible through other western tourism circuit National Parks including Mt. Rwenzori National Park, allowing a perfect bird watching experience ranges.

    A visit to River Semuliki is also among things to do in Semuliki National Park. The river meanders, forming ox-bow lakes in some places, along the Western border down to Lake Albert. It is surrounded by a swamp where four Lake Victoria biome species, including Papyrus Gonolek and Caruthers’s Cisticola are recorded. The site also has two restricted range species and surprisingly, six Afrotropical highlands biome species; all widespread elsewhere.

Sempaya and Ntandi provide excellent viewing of the birds including the White-crested Hornbill, Red-billed Dwarf Hornbill, and Piping Hornbill, Yellow-throated Nicator, Great blue and Ross’s Turacos.
